About this time the Declamation Contests were held, and great interest
was manifested for them. Dick Merritt, the old maestro, took first honors
again, and Georgie Stead pulled in a dose second. All the speakers were well
                           applauded.
And so the winter term drew to a close as our spring vacation came on
hand. The Proscenium Club put on undoubtedly its best show ever in 7 he
Youngest, by Philip Barry. "Piute” Merritt, Carl Howland, Bill Myer, Jack
Donley, Line Pierce, and in fact the whole cast were superb! ’Twas a great
show, and a great way to send us homeward.
And now our little story grows to an end as we catch up on ourselves. No
more does the snow beat down, or the blistery wind chill our bones. It is
getting warmer now, and we are nearing the end, unknown, and often fore
boding. We’re on the last lap, soon to fly away as graduates. It is our last
fling. With a final nod, a final handshake, and a final waving of handkerchiefs,
we concede our place to the Juniors and say farewell!
