            It pays for a geologist to have
            a long memory and in the
            case of Classic Minerals Ltd

            (ASX: CLZ) managing director
            Dean Goodwin it is set to pay
            in ounces of gold.




                                                                Goodwin’s powers of recall have proved invaluable for Classic
                                                                since the company convinced him to share his knowledge of
                                                                the Forrestania greenstone belt in Western Australia more
                                                                than four years ago.
            Projects:                                           For Goodwin, it was an opportunity to reacquaint himself
            Kat Gap gold project                                with a landscape he had covered extensively two decades

                                                                “I spent three-and-a-half years mapping this ground more than
            Fraser Range nickel-copper project                  20 years ago and actually mapped  some 120km  of strike,”
                                                                Goodwin explains. “Classic found out about my experience in
                                                                the district and So, I have applied that knowledge gained two
                                                                decades ago to getting the company to where it is now.”
                                                                Where Classic finds itself is on the edge of making the leap from
                                                                explorer  to  gold  producer.  While  the  company’s  Forrestania
                                                                asset still demonstrates considerable exploration potential, it
                                                                has landed on the Kat Gap project – 170km south of Southern
                                                                Cross – as its standout prospect.
                                                                Originally taken to scoping study by Sons of Gwalia in 2003,
                                                                Kat Gap represents the ideal starter project.
