Thiess wins $1.3 billion
Curragh extension
CIMIC Group’s global mining services
provider, Thiess, has been awarded a
six-year, $1.3 billion contract extension
by Coronado Global Resources Inc to
provide mining services at the Curragh
coal mine in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.
Under the extension, Thiess will con-
tinue to provide overburden removal and
haulage, mining and run-of-mine rehan-
dling services, equipment maintenance
and pit dewatering.
In addition to this contract, Thiess will
continue delivery of its existing scope of
works, including the operation and main-
tenance of the client-owned 1,400t elec-
tric rope shovel and ultra-class trucking
fleet.
Thiess has a long record of service at
the metallurgical coal-rich mine, having
