Kmine will supply the gold needed to
make this year’s Melbourne Cup trophy.
In what is considered the pinnacle of
Australian sport, the 160th Melbourne
Cup will be run on November 3. It is the
first time that gold from Victoria will be
sourced to make the prized trophy for the
winner of “the race that stops a nation”.
From the mining and refining of the gold,
to the spinners and goldsmiths involved
in its final construction, producing the
Melbourne Cup trophy from start to finish
takes over 250 hours. It contains 1.65kg
of 18ct gold estimated at over $200,000.
As an Australian company with a rich
heritage in locally sourced and produced
precious metals, ABC Bullion was

Racing Club for what is one of the main
attractions on the international racing
calendar.
