aturn Metals Ltd managing director Ian Bamborough has
Sbecome the first explorer to join the board of the Gold
Industry Group (GIG).
Bambrough will also serve as the member-based, not-for-
profit industry association’s vice-chair.
“It is a pleasure to be able to support the GIG’s important
role in championing and connecting Australians to our gold
industry,” Bamborough said.
Gold Fields Ltd vice-president legal and compliance Kelly
Carter was elected chair for a second term.
Carter said she was looking forward to working alongside
Bambrough in what will be the GIG’s seventh year.
“The composition of the board is testament to our
increased focus on broadening representation, which is
also demonstrated by the expansive national reach of our
programmes,” she said.
Five new directors joined the GIG’s leadership team late last
year, including St Barbara Ltd head of people, culture and
corporate affairs Justine Fisher, Northern Star Resources Ltd
group manager government relations and social performance
Guy Singleton, Gold Road Resources Ltd chief financial
officer John Mullumby and Perth Mint manager business
development and industry research Cameron Alexander.
