Dr Simon Johnson is the Director of Regional Geoscience at the Geological
Survey of Western Australia (GSWA), which he joined in 2006 following several
post-doctoral positions in Australia and Japan. He has worked throughout
southern Africa and Western Australia specialising in the tectonic evolution
of Proterozoic orogenic belts and their mineral systems, utilizing zircon and
phosphate geochronology and associated mineral isotopes. At GSWA, Dr
Johnson is focussed on producing datasets that promote exploration in
underexplored areas under cover.
