New Owners, New Name,
New Shows at
Downtown Theatre
Love great food and great entertainment? The Hot Springs Bathhouse
Dinner Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Hot Springs and offers a daily
dinner buffet with a variety of live entertainment options. Formerly known as The
Five Star Theatre, The Hot Springs Bathhouse Dinner Theatre is one of Hot Springs’
best attractions!
The theatre is debuting a new line-up of great show options! The featured
show is “The Hot Springs Story”. This highly entertaining production captures
audiences with the fascinating history of this city known as “America’s First Resort”.
Working with the Garland County Historical Society for historical accuracy,
the audience will learn about the bathhouses, baseball, gangsters, famous & infamous
people, gambling, music and entertainers…all in a fun, high energy show!
Other show options include individual entertainers Ken Goodman and
Scott Davis. Ken Goodman sings the music you love, including Sinatra, Martin,
Crosby as well as some great Broadway classics. This show is full of laughs and
loved by all! Scott Davis is a comedian and musician with jaw-dropping magic
and side-splitting comedy. Having opened for the likes of Jay Leno, his show has
everyone laughing and amazed!
The theatre also offers a comedy play “Always a Bridesmaid”. This
comedy is about southern belles who promised as youth to always be bridesmaids
in each other’s weddings; they just didn’t know they’d still be performing the role
quite so often and decades later.
Another new offering is a robust Sunday Brunch featuring live piano by
the renowned Ray Liebau. Other new shows will be announced soon!
In the epicenter of downtown, The Hot Springs Bathhouse Dinner Theatre
is also debuting Hot Springs first historic guided walking tour. Period-costumed
guides will lead guests down Central Avenue with a narration of the rich history of
downtown Hot Springs. Tour starts at the theatre daily.
In May 2018, Charlie and Jonna Devine, owners of Hot Springs Advertising,
purchased The Five Star Theatre. “When we moved to Hot Springs two years ago
from the east coast, we knew we would continue our advertising agency. The theatre
opportunity was a bonus!”
The Devines state, “We’ve really enjoyed meeting and welcoming locals
and visitors alike. We appreciate the overwhelming support of the city, Visit Hot
Springs, Downtown Association of Hot Springs and Chamber of Commerce. As
a community, we all gain by offering quality entertainment options.” Under new
ownership, all shows are now family-friendly. Customers will also notice new
signage and a new website under the theatre’s new name.
Also, The Hot Springs Bathhouse Dinner Theatre is the sponsor of the
Friends of the National Park’s 4 of July festival on Arlington Lawn. “We love
th
being part of the growing downtown district,” say the Devines.
“With the wide variety of shows from music, magic and plays, we wanted
to offer options for any family, group, date night or a fun night out!”
