The FreightWatch report shows a
drop in cargo theft by “fictitious pick-
ups,” thieves who pose as legitimate
recipients of the freight. However, the
report notes, the 18 percent drop in
that kind of theft could be an anomaly
because the fictitious pickups are not
always reported and hard to classify.
