Lynn and Lee Lucy are the matriarch
and patriarch of the family business,
but when it comes to trucking,
                                                               everyone is family

                                                                    Managing Editor

“MY CHILDHOOD was building forts in the woods, playing in the creek beds
and riding bikes,” Lynn Lucy, president of PLD Transport, says. The partnership
that eventually led to their Malvern-based trucking company began right here.
Growing up in Malvern, Ark., Lynn didn’t know about trucking. She knew
about cheerleading and school spirit. “Leopard pride ran deep in our little
                                          town,” she says.
Then in 1984, she met Lee Lucy at the local bowling alley. He was a few
years older and had graduated from a rival school a few miles down the road in
Glen Rose. He had called her a few times, but she says she couldn’t remember
                                          what he looked like.
