Dear Graduates,

You deserve the praise and congratulations that comes with having
accomplished a major achievement that is, graduating from the university.
This is an emotional moment in your lives, for you are proud of what you have
accomplished, sad for leaving behind friends, and anxious about your future.
It is also an important turning point in your lives as you are now about to step
into the professional world or to take your studies a stage further.
Whatever your choice is, the skills and knowledge you have acquired, and the
cultural background that you have built up during your study at the Department
of Translation and Interpreting will become the pillars that shall support a
successful professional life. Moreover, as the practitioners of a profession
indispensable for the communication of nations and cultures, the sine qua non
members of a globalized world, you are also expected to contribute to the peace
in the world. You bear the torch and may that same torch light your way.
