GANDHI JAYANTI ASSEMBLY

Somerville School, Greater Noida celebrated the 150 th
Birthday of the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi on 1 st

OCTOBER 2019. Gandhiji was a leader whose wisdom,
focused approach and integrity made him special. Besides his

honesty and righteousness, there was another equality that
made him the leader of India's freedom struggle. The master
strategist in him made him a leader . It has been 72 years

post independence that his contribution for the country
remains alive in the hearts and minds of people. The fight for

the Independence without fear, upliftment of the poor and his
strategical skills for the social change gave him the ability to
convince several men and women to come out of their houses

and join the freedom movement. He was the perfect blend of
traditional demeanor and a modern outlook. A spectacular

presentation on the life of Mahatma Gandhi was performed
by the students. Assembly began with a brief introduction to
the birth of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and his

ineffaceable contribution to the freedom struggle of India.
The teachings of Mahatma Gandhi on Peace, Non-Violence

and Honesty were highlighted. Swachtha Abhiyan initiated
by the Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Oath taking ceremony on ‘Swachhta’
Modi was also stressed on. As the assembly drew to its

conclusion, the Principal was invited to enrich her students
with her vision and mission on Swachtha. Thereafter Mr.

Dharamender Kumar administered the oath to the students.
