PATRATU MANUFACTURING FACILITY

JSPL has a manufacturing unit in Patratu, Jharkhand with a total
finished steel capacity of 1.60 MTPA. The company operates a Bar
Rod Mill of 1MTPA capacity and a Wire Rod Mill (WRM) of 0.6 MTPA
capacity with a rebar service centre.

The journey for JSPL in Patratu began when the company took
over the assets of the defunct Bihar Alloys and Steel Limited at
Patratu, 40 km away from Ranchi. In the early 2010, the company
commissioned the 0.6 MTPA wire rod mill which was followed by the
commissioning of the 1 MTPA bar mill in the year 2011. The Rebar
centre was incorporated in 2012 which is capable to produce ready
to use products of retail such as Weld Mesh U-bend and Cut & Bend.

The manufacturing plant at Patratu today is equipped with the
latest state-of-art technology and offers superior quality products
such as Wire Rods, TMT Rebars, Rounds, Angles, and ready to use
products like Weld Mesh, Cut and Bend Rebars. JSPL announced
its retail foray in 2013 with Jindal Panther TMT Rebars, which are
produced in Patratu with the latest on-line high yield quenching and
self-tempering (HYQST) technology. The TMT Rebars fully comply to
and are certified under Fe500S grade of BIS 1786. They have higher
degree of strength, ductability and malleability, and thus are able to
withstand shock loading and cyclic loading conditions making them
an ideal choice for buildings in high seismic zones.

JSPL has comissioned India’s largest Producer Gas Plant (PGP)
equipped to meet fuel requirements of the furnaces of Wire Rod Mill
(160 tph) and Bar Mill (200 tph), respectively. The plant has also won
the International Safety Award 2015 from the British Safety Council
UK for the second consecutive year in 2015.
