6.3 REFRACTION OF WAVES

What is Refraction of waves is a change in its direction as the waves
Refraction pass from one medium to another. It occurs when there is a
of waves? difference in the speed of the wave at the boundary of two
              mediums.
What After refraction, the wave has the same frequency, but a
happens to different speed, wavelength and direction of propagation.

& direction?                                             shallow water:
                                                         v = fλ f is constant

                                                            ∴v ∝ λ v is directly proportional to λ

                                                                 f = v = cons tan t ∴ v1 = v2
