                                                                                       Bryan County is located in the state of Georgia with the county seat being Pembroke. The
                                                                                    largest city is Richmond Hill. Bryan County was created in December, 1793,  and is named after
                                                                                    American Revolutionary War partisan, Jonathan Bryan. Bryan County is separated into two parts
                                                                                    (North Bryan and South Bryan) due to the location of Fort Stewart in the middle. Bryan County is
                                                                                    also part of the Savannah, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.
                                                                                       Chatham County is located on the Atlantic coast of Georgia. The county seat and largest city is
                                                                                    Savannah. The county was created in February, 1777, and is also one of the original counties of
                                                                                    the state. It is named after William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham. Chatham the most populous
                                                                                    Georgia county outside the Atlanta Metropolitan Area and is the core county of the Savannah
                                                                                    Metropolitan Area.
                                                                                       Liberty County is located to the south of Bryan and Chatham Counties. The county seat is the
                                                                                    city of Hinesville. Liberty county was established in 1777 and is named for the American ideal of
                                                                                    liberty. The county is also a part of the Hinesville, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is
                                                                                    included in the Savannah-Hinesville-Statesboro, Georgia Combined Statistical Area.
                                                                                       Long County is also located to the south of Bryan and Chatham  Counties and to the west of
                                                                                    Liberty County. The county seat is Ludowici. Long County is part of the Hinesvile-Fort Stewart
                                                                                    Metropolitan Statistical Area. The constitutional amendment to create the county was proposed
                                                                                    in August, 1920, and ratified November, 1920.
