county seat and largest city is Huntsville. Walker County is named in honor of
Texas Ranger and soldier in the United States Army, Samuel H. Walker. Walker
County also comprises the Huntsville, TX Micropolitan Statistical Area as well as
the Houston–The Woodlands, TX Combined Statistical Area.
