256-yard par 3 twelfth from the
back tees. Water hazards abound on the final three holes beginning with the par 3
sixteenth. Most golfers normally take three shots on the final par 5 at seventeen,
and the solid par 4 eighteenth puts a nice little bow on one terrific course. Canaan’s
Stay & Play golf packages feature lodging, breakfast, green and cart fees, use of the
outdoor swimming pool, and privileges to use the resort’s indoor pool and fitness
facilities.

A $34-million new construction and renovation project was completed last year that
included substantial upgrades. Canaan Valley Resort now features 160 lodge rooms,
23 cabins and cottages, three dining options, 25,000 square feet of flexible meeting
space, and 12 individual meeting venues.

As previously mentioned, Canaan
offers something for everyone
anytime of the year. Besides golf in
the warm weather months, outdoor
facilities include hiking and biking
trails, a trap shooting range, a huge
outdoor pool area, and the ski area’s
chairlift to ride to the top of the
mountain. In the winter, this peak
with a vertical drop of 850 feet, is
snow covered as skiers of all levels
