Golf Destination

This blind tee shot carries over a huge sand dune. Aim for the dead cedar tree, called
Ghost Tree, to reach the green; just hit your tee shot just to the right of the tree.
You don’t know the first time playing here that once the ball travels over that hill,
it tumbles down the dune, aiding its journey to the hole. It might just be the perfect
opportunity for a 300 yard drive
Conditions can vary throughout the different seasons. It can be windy, rainy, or
very calm. With the more extreme conditions in mind, the courses were designed
with wide and forgiving fairways, but you will want to avoid strategic bunkering.
You can very easily putt from fairway to green as the grass is cut similar around
the greens, just like courses in the British Isles. These walking courses allow you to
enjoy the true experience of links style golf whether you carry, push a cart, or use a
caddie. Persons with disabilities can contact the club and request golf carts.
In 2012, thirteen-hole Bandon Preserve
golf course was added. The holes range
from 63 to 150 yards, so it is not really
a pitch and putt course. Keeping with
the theme of the other four courses,
challenging holes offer elevation changes
and great bunkering assure an exciting
round. On the tenth hole tee box, all you
can see is the top of the flag as the hole is
hidden behind a large sand mound. This
course was added to make it easy to still Bandon Preserve
get in some golf on the day you arrive, or
if you just don’t want to play a full round one day. You could play 18 and then the
Preserve course replay
Last built and just more great golf is the 36 hole, 2½ acre putting complex called The
Punchbowl. Again, hardly a flat spot can be found, but what you will find is a fun
time regardless of your skill level

The resort offers many lodging options to suit your needs, varying from single
accommodations in The Lodge or The Inn to the spacious four-bedroom Grove
Cottages. Five restaurants each offer unique dining experiences.

Getting to the Bandon Resort is a journey that is well worth taking! Visiting could
be considered a Golf Pilgrimage and should be put on any golfers “Bucket List.” The
courses with their layouts, and of course the challenge, could never disappoint. The
topography, the views of the Pacific Ocean below, and the gorse bushes with their
yellow flowers when in bloom is unbelievably beautiful.
It is difficult to say something new about a resort when so many others have
already written so much. However, it is not hard to appreciate all the efforts of
those who envisioned, planned, and created this great resort. Bandon Resort is the
result of many talented people: Mike Keiser; Howard McKee; and the architects
and their crews, David McLay Kidd, Tom Doak, Bill Coore, Ben Crenshaw, and
Jim Urbina. Golfers who play here will realize how lucky they are due to the
commitment of these individuals who allow them to enjoy “Golf As It Was Meant
