The modern, strategic layout of The Meadows includes new signature bunker
concepts in an entertaining but challenging design. Water comes into play on eight
different holes throughout the course to provide challenge not common on The Old
          White TPC

I would need most of the pages in this magazine to review all of the amenities that
you can find on your migration to The Greenbrier in the Allegheny Mountains.
Let’s explore some of my favorites from my exodus there. Known for its world-
class, authentic, southern hospitality, this quite unique and dazzling resort will
likely transport you back in time as I was with its grand scale architecture and
infamous Dorothy Draper décor. You will literally be walking in the footsteps of
presidents and celebrities that have made The Greenbrier
one of the most iconic resorts in the country. The wealth
of remarkable chandeliers here will likely be one of the
first things that catches your eye as you enter, but only one
comes from the move “Gone with the Wind.” The resort
purchased it from The Debbie Reynolds estate not long Gone With the Wind
after her death, and it now graces the Lobby Bar. Chandelier

At the height of the Cold War a top-secret U.S. government relocation facility now
known as “The Bunker” was built on the property to house Congress in the event
of an attack on the capital. Since exposed to the public in 1992, you can now take a
must-see walking tour to go behind the scenes of a fascinating period of history.
Sam Snead first came here in 1936, and his name has been
synonymous with The Greenbrier as evident with his
memorabilia prominently displayed at The Golf Club and
its two dining venues – Sam Snead’s at The Golf Club and
Slammin’ Sammy's. Snead made his final hole-in-one on
the eighteenth of Old White TPC

The Casino Club, America’s only private casino just for
Greenbrier guests, features table games, slot machines,
and simulcast racing. The Spa, a 40,000 square-foot
pamper palace, is widely recognized as one of the most
luxurious mineral spas in the world. With 35 boutiques
and shops and 20 restaurants, cafes, and lounges, fill
your heart and appetite to content. If golf isn’t your only sporting fix, try tennis,
swimming, bowling, horseback riding, or any of the abundance of outdoor and
indoor activities that will help you make the most of your trip
I realize I’m one of the fortunate ones that can call my line of work play and vice
versa. At this point in my life, I wouldn’t want it any other way. A chapter of your
life spent at The Greenbrier will be one that will provide plenty of memories to
cherish until your next journey there.
