The Greenbrier Resort will open a nine-hole short course in August to complement the
three 18-hole regulation courses at the resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV. The Ashford
Short Course will be a walking-only layout of holes ranging from 56 to 112 yards. The
trend follows similar openings at resorts such as Bandon Dunes in Oregon and Pinehurst
in North Carolina. The Ashford course is named in honor of Army Col. Bailey K. Ashford,
