Rated HHHH —Golf Digest
Clustered Spires Golf Club, located just outside of historic
Frederick MD, offers golfers everything they need for an
enjoyable day on the course. Built by the city in 1991, this
was Frederick County’s first public golf course. This gem
has been constantly voted as the favorite golf course in
Frederick. Clustered Spires is laid out upon 200 acres
of rolling farmland adjacent to the Monocacy River. The
excellent conditions of the bentgrass greens and plush
rolling fairways provide the setting for golfers of all skill
levels. Clustered Spires received its unique name from the
grouping of 5 very old and distinct church steeples that
make up the clustered spires of Frederick City’s skyline.
The respected design team of Ault, Clark and Associates
created a fun and challenging competitive course. Just
minutes from I-70 and a short drive from both Baltimore
and Washington, DC, is one of the best golf values in
central Maryland. Clustered Spires Golf Club delivers a
solid golfing experience you will enjoy from start to finish.

“One of the state’s premier nine hole layouts” —Virginia Golfer
One of Virginia’s oldest, continuously operating golf
courses is still one of the best golf values in all of the
Shenandoah Valley. Front Royal Golf Club is under the
operation, direction, and management of the County of
Warren. This 1938 nine-hole layout features dual tee boxes
to create a true 18-hole feel. Front Royal is reminiscent of
the old Scottish links-style courses that require accuracy
not length. The challenge comes from the small undulating
greens and deep bunkering. Four holes border the
Shenandoah River, more than any course in Virginia, with
none more dramatic than the par 5 seventeenth hole, which
features a tee shot along the river’s edge. Front Royal Golf
Club brings back the 4-hour round of golf. It’s a fun and
excellent test of golf you’re sure to enjoy. The first Certified
USFGA FootGolf Course in the Shenandoah Valley is
now open at Front Royal Golf Club. The course is a par
32 and is part of the United States FootGolf Association.
Conveniently located just off I-66 at Exit 6 on Country Club
Road in the beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley.
