SCRIPTURES ON DEATH
OLD TESTAMENT
PSALM 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art
with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head
with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord for ever.
PSALM l16:15
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
ECCLESIASTES 3: 1-2, 4
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is
planted; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time Io mourn, and a time to dance;
EZEKLEL 37:5-6, 12, 14
Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and
ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you
with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will
open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of
Israel. And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land:
then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord.
NEW TESTAMENT
MATTHEW 5:4
