A word concerning the immersion depth

Please remember that it is impossible to state the exact immersion depth be-
cause it depends on many factors, such as the reeling-in speed, line thickness
and the distance of the bait.
A twitching angler, for example, lets the bait surface repeatedly and can
therefore choose models that run deeper. By contrast, thin lines let the bait
descend deeper. The further the bait is cast and the faster it is guided, the
deeper it runs. If your target fish is pike, your aim should be to fish above the
heads of the predators. In the case of pike-perch the bait must be down
lower and may occasionally touch the bottom.
You should make your choice according to these criteria and Matze’s motto

The allround bait which deflects a great deal attracts the big predators.
