Take home messages

• In modern era of hemodialysis technology which high-flux &

super high-flux dialyzer and on-line producing substitution fluid

are used, the quality of water treatment system is crucial and

should be validated.

• We can not prove the quality of dialysis fluid at real-time used

and the sterility of substitution fluid is beyond the lab sensitivity

to verify.

• We have to use validation process to make sure that the quality

of dialysis fluid are within the required range at all time.

• Using equipments according to validation process of

manufacturer, adequate monitoring & maintenance of water

treatment system, rapid corrective actions and revalidation after

correction are the principal task to achieve high fluid quality for

HD and ensuring patient safety.
