TRAVELS
La vie de château…
Luxury Wine Tourism by Bernard Magrez
A helicopter and a Rolls-Royce Phantom were
the modes of transport of choice in Bordeaux
for an exceptional discovery of Bernard
Magrez’s three properties : Chateau Pape-
Clément, Chateau Fombrauge and Chateau La
Tour Carnet…
It was in 1990 that he acquired the Chateau
Pape-Clément where wine had been made
for 6 centuries, signalling the beginning of a
life-long passion. In 1999 Chateau
Fombrauge (Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
Classé) and La Tour Carnet (Grand Cru
Classé du Haut-Médoc) joined the 40 pro-
perties in œnologist Bernard Magrez’s col-
lection, with the addition in 2012 of Clos
Haut-Peyraguey (1st Cru classé in the AOC
Sauternes). When you visit one of his cha-
teaux you immediately feel at home (La Tour
Carnet just has one room), Bernard Magrez
offers the opportunity to experience life in
the chateau, discover the oenology and the
region in a unique manner; experiencing
excellence, luxury, history and tradition.
Amateurs, connoisseurs, wine tasters and
collectors will all enjoy the specialised tours
