"In  a  few  minutes,  there  will  be  nothing  left  of  me.  I  am
                                                                                   going,  going,  go ..."
                                                                                      Dorothy  looked  down  on  the  floor.  The  Wicked  Witch
                                                                                   had  melted.  There  was  nothing  left  of her  but  the  Silver
                                                                                   Shoe.
                                                                                      So  the  girl  cleaned  the  kitchen  floor  with  some  more
                                                                                   water. Then she cleaned the Silver Shoe and put it on.  She
                                                                                   told the Cowardly Lion the  good news and untied his rope.
                                                                                      "The Wicked Witch of the West is dead!" Dorothy cried.
                                                                                      All  the  Winkies  ran  up  to  her.  They  were  laughing
                                                                                   happily.
                                                                                      "The Wicked Witch is dead!" they cried.  "We are free!"

                                                                                      Dorothy      and   the   Winged     Monkeys

                                                                                       he  Winkies  had  been  the  Wicked  Witch's  slaves  for
                                                                                   Tmany     years.  They  were  very  happy  that  Dorothy  had
                                                                                   killed her.
                                                                                      "Is  there  anything  that  we  can  do  for  you?"  one  of the
                                                                                   Winkies asked Dorothy.
                                                                                      "We  had  two  good friends,  a  Tin  Man  and  a  Scarecrow,"
                                                                                   Dorothy replied.  "Can you find them for us?"
                                                                                      "Of course," the Winkies replied. They looked everywhere
                                                                                   and at last they found the Tin Man.  They carried him back to
                                                                                   the castle and showed him to Dorothy.
                                                                                      The  Tin Man's body was rusted  and bent.
                                                                                      "Oh,  poor Tin Man,"  the girl said.  "What  can we  do?"
                                                                                      "Some  of us are  tinsmiths,"  a Winkie  told her.  "We can
                                                                                   make him  like  new."
                                                                                      So  the  tinsmiths  worked  for  three  days,  straightening 72
                                                                                   and polishing" the Tin Man's body until he was better than

            "Look  what  you  have  done!  The  water  will kill me!"  the Witch                             51
                      cried.  "I  am  melting away!  Help  me!"
