What is the ISBN at the back of a book?
ISBN 978-93-82686-330 There are thousands of publishers across the world
and millions of books get printed every year. If you
pick up any book, turn it around, you will see a
number which looks like the one shown here. What
does it mean?
ISBN stands for International Standard Book Numbering. It is a numbering
system that is used to describe the book. It is a 13 digit number, divided
into four groups and separated by a hyphen. It gives information about the
country where it is published, the publisher, the title of the book and a
check digit.
No two books can have the same ISBN.
