(4) ใชใน Past Simple Tense แทนที่ Present Simple Tense เมื่อเปลี่ยนประโยคจาก

Direct Speech มาเปน Indirect Speech

Direct Speech : She said, “I understand what he means.”

เธอพูดวา “ฉันเขาใจวาเขาหมายความวาอยางไร”

Indirect Speech : She said that she understood what he meant.
เธอพูดวาเธอเขาใจวาเขาหมายความวาอยางไร

Direct Speech : I asked him, “Is it cleaned by service center”
ฉันถามเขาวา “มันถูกทําความสะอาดที่ศูนยบริการ

ใชหรือไม”

Indirect Speech : I asked him whether it was cleaned by service center.
