Reported speech หรือ Indirect Speech คือคําพูดที่นําเอาไปพูดตอ ซึ่งอาจมีวิธการพูด
ได 2 วิธ คือ
ี
1. การพูดโดยยกเอาคําพูดจริง ๆ ของผูพูดไปเลาใหฟงทั้งหมดโดยไมเปลี่ยนแปลง

เรียกวา Direct Speech

เชน Tomas said, "I like English." ขอความวา "I like English. " เปน Direct Speech

2. การพูดโดยนําคําพูดของผอื่นมาดัดแปลงเปนคําพูดของผูเลาเอง เรียกวา Reported

Speech หรือ Indirect Speech เชน Tomas said (that) he liked English.

Reported Speech มี 3 แบบใหญ ๆ คือ

1. Indirect Speech หรือ Reported Statement (บอกเลาและปฏิเสธ)

2. Indirect Speech หรือ Reported Request and Command (ขอรองและคําสั่ง)

3. Indirect Speech หรือ Reported Questions (คําถาม)

1. Indirect Speech หรือ Reported Statement (บอกเลา และปฏิเสธ)

1. ถากริยานําเปนปจจุบัน (Present) ไมตองเปลี่ยนแปลง Tense ใน Indirect Speech เชน

Direct Speech : Tomas says, "I like English."

Indirect Speech : Tomas says (that) he likes English .
