เปนคําสุภาพที่เสนอความชวยเหลือ อีกประโยคที่มีความหมายเชนเดียวกัน คือ Can I help

you? หรือ How can I help you? เปนประโยคที่ใชบอยมาก สามารถจําไปใชได โดยเฉพาะการ

2.2 to wait on (ใหบริการในรานและภัตตาคาร)

ตัวอยาง

 A young clerk waited on me in that shop.

 The restaurant waitress asked us, “Has anyone waited on you yet?”

2.3 to take part in (มีสวนรวม/เขารวม)

ตัวอยาง

 I didn’t want to take part in their agreement, so I remain silent.

 Martin was sick and could not take part in the meeting yesterday.

2.4 to get over (หายจากความเจ็บปวย/ยอมรับการสูญเสีย)

 It took me over a month to get over my cold, but I’m finally well now.

 It seems that Mr. Jack will never get over the death of his wife.

2.5 to look after (ดูแล)

 I want someone to look after my children during next week.

 Her son looked after all her financial affairs.
