of years, wrapping gifts for birthdays,
                                  anniversaries, Christmas and any
other special occasions is an invari-
able part of the celebration. But have
you ever wondered why we do it?

Gift wrapping has been around for
much longer than you might think.
One of the earliest story comes from
Asia, where during the Edo Period
(1603 to 1867) Japan pioneered the
use of a reusable gift wrapping made
                                  from cloth.

At 1917 in Kansas City, the Hall broth-
ers, who later created the internation-
                                  ally-renowned Hallmark company,
owned a stationery store that sells
greeting cards, gift tags and white
tissue paper. After running out of the
tissue paper, they attempt to find an
alternative аnd they settled on enve-
lope liners. This crucial choice devel-
oped into the wrapping paper that we
see today. Since then, the technique
of wrapping gifts has developed so
that it is now considered a work of
                                  art.
