I distinctly remember the day Robi told me that he and

three local friends had discussed that the growth of

the neighborhood created a pressing need for another

HOME option for a Yeshiva Ketana in the greater Far Rockaway

and 5 Towns community. At the time, I was 20 years old,

recently returned from learning in Eretz Yisrael, and was

currently learning in Y.F.R. with my Rosh Yeshiva, Rav

Yechiel Perr zol zain gezunt. Robi suggested that perhaps

I can ask Rabbi Perr what he thinks about this idea and

MESSAGES if I could set up a meeting between the parties. The

founders would not proceed with their vision unless it was

fully supported by, and received the haskomoh of, well

established and respected local daas Torah. The very next

day, immediately following first seder, I delivered Robi’s

sentiments to the Rosh Yeshiva--and the rest, as they say,

It was an honor for me to deliver that message a quarter

THANK YOU century ago, as much as it is an honor for me to recall that

message 25 years later. So I guess you can pretty much

blame me for all the Yeshiva Ketana of LI dinners you have

OUR TALMIDIM had to attend. But I’m not sorry about it one bit and I Messages

know neither are any of you. Like me, I am sure you all feel

an overwhelming sense of pride and are privileged to be a

JOURNAL part of this amazing mosad hatorah.
