               2.2 Skill Test Specifications

                       2.2.1 Reading Skill

                       General Purposes:           To determine if test takers have reached A2 level in

                                                   reading skill
                       (Sub)skill Focused:         Reading comprehension

                       Specific Purpose:           1.  Test  takers  can  read,  understand,  and  use  the

                                                   sentences and phrases that are used according to the

                                                   surrounding  such  as  general  and  family  information,

                                                   shopping, local geography, and job offer.
                                                   2. Test takers can read, understand, and use the simple

                                                   topics according to the direct exchange information in

                                                   everyday life except from the familiar information.

                       Target Language Situation:  Language for communication

                       Test Takers Description:    Test takers can read, understand, and use the sentences

                                                   and phrases that are used according to the surrounding
                                                   such as general and family information, shopping, local

                                                   geography, and job offer. Moreover, the simple topics

                                                   according to the direct exchange information in everyday

                                                   life except from the familiar information.

                       Test Level (Standard):      All test takers who want to assess their ability

                       Input:                      Characterization: short sentence
                                                   Sources: Ads, news, cartoons, real-world situation, etc.

                                                   Topics: work, school, library, on-campus, etc.

                                                   Length: 1 short sentence(s) per 1 question

                       Authenticity:               Natural  language,  contextualized  items,  meaningful

                                                   topics, tasks represent, closely approximate, and real-
                                                   world tasks.

                       Input Types:                Ads, news, cartoons, real-world situation, etc.

                       Discourse Type:             Descriptive or narrative discourse

                       Nature of Content:          Abstract
