Diversity and Discrimination

Diversity refers to the ways that we all are different from one another. Some

differences can be our gender, sexuality, ethnicity, culture, religion, spirituality,
family, social standing, age, body size, and ability. We believe diversity i.e. all the

things that make us different; should be appreciated and celebrated! Loving
differences starts with being curious and open-minded when someone seems

        different from us.
Discrimination is a wrong attitude towards each other because it refers to the

untouchability, unacceptability. We should not practice discrimination because
everyone has one’s own rights to do anything one wishes. if not encroaching anyone

else’s rights. We should not discriminate among people on the basis of their sex,
religion, and the place of birth. All the persons have their fundamental rights to

move freely to any other place within the country or to choose his/her profession.
We should also not discriminate anyone due to their handicap. Dr. Om Prakash

Valmiki has written in his book titled Juthan.

If we talk about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar he was a Dalit, but he is known as the architect
        of the Indian constitution.

He was an Indian jurist, an economist, a politician and a social reformer and more
than anything else. He was the saviour for the Dalit Movement in India and was the
face of the campaign against social stigma and discrimination towards the

        untouchables in India.

Untouchable"—people tainted by their birth into a caste system that deems them
impure, less than human. We have to learn a lesson that no person is authorised to
        discriminate.
