The typical application is for MerCruiser, Quicksilver and Mercury Remanufacturing gasoline inboard engines. Engine couplers may need to be
changed based on the transmission and application. In general spring plate couplers are used for inline or co‑axial transmissions, and dual‑stage
couplers for V‑Drive and Downangle transmissions. If using on an existing engine, a new coupler is recommended when using a new transmission.
Also, please be sure to install and properly adjust new premium shift cables as the #1 clutch failure is from improperly adjusted shift cables that can
result in severe transmission damage. Propshaft couplers need to be sourced separately.
As a side note, ZF 63 series transmissions are in process of converting to ZF 68 series transmissions. Some SKU’s of ZF 63 series may need to
convert to ZF 68 series at the time of order. There is a price difference to consider. Quicksilver will offer the value offered by the ZF 63 series for as long
as they are available.
