Technology
Brenda has expertise in a variety of programming languages
such as PHP, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, but believes that
a good programmer can pick up any language. This belief is one
that she brings into the classroom, where she teach es co urses on
Brenda
programming, cybersecurity, cloud co mputing, accessible
technologies, and more. Brenda joined RHC in 2018 after Harlow
20 years of working as a consultant and software developer. She
brings her real-world knowledge of information tech nology alive
through story and giving advice to students about getting started.

Geographic Information
Systems
Jennie has a wealth of experience with GIS. As a
geography major in college, she disco vered GIS and learned
that GIS is used to help communities fight for environmental justice
and equity. After her bachelor’s degree she has earned a GIS
Jennie certificate and A.S. Degree in GIS from Rio Hondo College. Inspired by
her community college professor, is pursuing the Masters of Sci ence
Ramirez in GIS at CSULB, graduating Fall 2021. Jennie plans to one day work
with communities to identify environmental issues and work to find
solutions that can help everyone. She co ntinues to volunteer for the
Rio Hondo GIS & Drone Club, where she enjoys engaging with others
about the wonderful possibilities that GIS ca n lead to.
