TIMES ALIVE- “Incredible Women”

The very fact that she heads India’s largest private bank, says quite a good
deal about Chanda Kochhar. At a time when there were very few women
CEOs around Kochhar took the banking world by storm when she came to
head ICICI. She is widely recognised for her role in shaping the retail banking
sector in India and for her leadership of the ICICI Group, as well as her
contributions to various forums in India and globally. Chanda became the
first Indian woman to receive the prestigious Woodrow Wilson Award for
Global Citizenship, joining the ranks of Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice.

Barkha Dutts journalistic achievements are quite well known to everyone
and rightly so. While her reportage of the Kargil war brought her a lot of
criticism it surely took superhuman courage on her part to be in the middle
of a war. The fact that most aspiring journalists look up to her as a role
model speaks multitudes about her success.

India’s first woman IPS officer, Kiran Bedi has been known for her hard
stance on social justice. She was a frontrunner in the recent India Against
Corruption movement and never showed any sign of bowing down to
political pressure in spite of her fair share of controversies. A former tennis
player and a politician who is the current Lieutenant Governor of
Puducherry. She is the first woman to join the Indian Police Service

Priyanka Chopra is many things in one – former beauty queen, Bollywood
actress, Hollywood star, singer and producer. And over and above her
professional pursuits, she is also a style icon. Over the years, Priyanka's
sense of dressing has undergone a metamorphosis of sorts. Today, she is
one of the most fashionable celebrities, not just in India, but internationally
too. And the 35-year-old star leaves no opportunity to stress on the
                                           same.Priyanka Chopra is glamour Personified.

Recently awarded the third highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan,
Mary Kom has been a force to reckon with in Indian sports. In a country
where not too many women are encouraged to take up sports, Mary Kom is
a shining example of how much women can achieve. Today, inspired
thousands of young girls to carve out their own success stories
