wife’s

debut film?

t’s a popular adage that behind every successful
man is a woman. She’s the wind beneath his
Iwings. Come to think of it, a man, too, can be
the wind beneath his woman’s wings, if the need
ever arises. Ayushmann Khurrana, a bankable
star today, has dabbled in anchoring television
and live shows before becoming an actor with
‘Vicky Donor’. For the last few years, his wife
Tahira Kashyap has also been penning scripts for
full-length features and short films. When asked
if he sees himself being cast in a story written by
his wife, Ayushmann says, “There is this dormant
feminist in her. She will write something about
women and there will hardly be any space for me.
So far, she has written two scripts, and both are
women oriented.”
Is producing the films an option? Would he like
to don producer’s hat for his wife and ensure her
debut film is off to a great start? “I am making a
conscious decision to not produce it. I think that if
someone else produces her first film, it will be more
credible and it will put her in a better position.” Now,
that’s what a caring husband sounds like, right?
