From the age of six, Bobby Pearce competed in races for
                 thirty-three years and retired from sports in 1945.  How many
                 of these races do you think he lost?  Not one!

                 Now sit in pairs/ groups and discuss the questions/

                      1.    Bobby Pearce was ready to lose the race to save the
                            ducks.  How did this incident impress everybody?

                 Class Teacher  :  Hello Ananda, congratulations.

                 Ananda             :  Thank you sir.

                 Class Teacher  :  It seems you are so sad today.

                 Ananda             :  I’m not satisfied with my performance, sir.

                 Class Teacher  :  I came to know that you did fairly well in the
                                       event.

                 Ananda             :  Of course sir, I practised hard and performed
                                       well. Still I had to satisfy myself with the
                                       second place.
