I am pleased to note that the Science India Forum (SIF) Bahrain, an initiative of the National Science
Movement of India, is continuing to have such a profound impact on empowering the community and, with
the support of the Indian Embassy in Bahrain, is helping nurture the world’s future scientists.
The SIF Bahrain’s objective of promoting interest in science among the younger generation contributes
directly to helping shape a better future and, in that regard, perfectly aligns with Ithmaar Bank’s long-
standing commitment to playing a real and meaningful role in the community. Science keeps evolving with
new theories, new postulates and new experiments. It is only through experimentation and innovation that
we can enhance our way of living and our surroundings, as well as safeguard our community and our environment.
Science is valued by society because the application of scientific knowledge in its simple form helps to satisfy
many basic human needs and improve living standards. This initiative of SIF Bahrain will certainly help
crystalize the dreams of these budding scientist. I am confident that, in the near future, we will be witnesses
to their great innovations be it in space science, technology, alternate energy, medicine, healthcare or
artificial intelligence.
The success of the SIF Bahrain, a voluntary, non-profit organisation, is largely dependent on the financial
support it receives and I am pleased to continue, for the third consecutive year, our support of this truly
noble and worthy initiative.
Since its establishment five years ago, the SIF Bahrain has grown significantly, and has helped identify and
subsequently develop and nourish talent that could, one day, literally change the world as we know it. That
is the tremendous potential of investing in youth, and it is made exponentially more powerful by the focus
on science. We are excited to be able to help make this happen.
To put this in scale, this year, for example, the SIF Bahrain’s Science Talent Contest, involved screening
more than 11,000 students making it the largest science talent search in the Kingdom. This growth is a
result of the hard work and dedication of many people – and it also a testimony to the growing impact of
science on everyday lives.
Modern science transcends geographic, political and cultural barriers to have a pronounced influence on
our daily lives, regardless of how we choose to live them. This influence, I believe, will only continue to grow
with time, touching our lives in ways we haven’t even started to consider.
I take this opportunity, once again, to commend the SIF Bahrain team of their stupendous efforts, and to
congratulate them on having developed a popular platform that helps nurture scientific innovation among
the youth.
With best regards,
