The result of 1st level contest has declared by Vijnana Bharati on 20th June
2016. 80 top performers from the contest have qualified for the 2nd level
contest. The “A+” and “A” Grade winners were also declared.
As a preliminary preparation for the Level-2 contest, SIF has given the
guidelines to the SPC- 1st level toppers and provided them with topics for
their research work. The second level multi talent contest (Science Camp)
was conducted on 8th Oct 2016 at Asian School premises. 77 students
attended the camp. The performance of the students were assessed for

BlooD DoNATIoN CAMP
As part of the ongoing social commitment to society, SIF Bahrain conducted
a blood donation camp at Salmaniya Medical Complex on 2nd Oct 2016,
(Gandhi Jayanti). 135 volunteers and well-wishers donated blood to the
o Central Blood Bank, at Salmaniya Hospital, Bahrain.
NCSC TeACHeRS’ oRIeNTATIoN PRogRAM
From the year 2016 onwards the ‘budding young Scientists’ studying in
P different Indian Schools in Bahrain are getting an unique opportunity to
participate with their projects in the prestigious ‘National Children’s Science
Congress’ [NCSC].
e SIF Bahrain organized a “Teachers’ Orientation Program” for all school NCSC
coordinators and science teachers on 15th October 2016. The orientation
program was conducted by Mrs. Sindhu, NCSC coordinator, SIF UAE. About
R 35 teachers have attended the orientation program.
INDIA @ 70 PRogRAM
SIF Bahrain organized “India @ 70”, a lecture to commemorate the birth
anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 15th October 2016. The chief guest
of the event was Mr. Anand Prakash, Second Secretary at Indian Embassy.
l The lecture was delivered by Padmasree Dr. Y. S Rajan, honorary professor
at Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and a longtime associate and co-author of many books with
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Dr. Y. S Rajan interacted with the toppers of the Sastra Pratibha Contest (SPC) 2016. This event was attended
by approx. 350 people which includes professionals like doctors, engineers, chartered accountants, teachers,

SIF Bahrain organized an educational trip to Alba Bahrain, one of the top aluminum factories in world.
Multinational International School students participated in this trip.
AWARD CeReMoNY
A felicitation ceremony for honouring the winners, (Sastra Pratibhas, A+ and A Grade winners) of Sastra
Pratibha Contest is scheduled on 4th Nov 2016 at Indian School Bahrain. His Excellency Mr. Alok Kumar Sinha,
Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain and Padmasree Dr. Vijay Kumar Saraswat has consented to
be present at the award ceremony-2016. Further SIF planned an interactive session of Dr. Saraswat with the
students and science loving audience on the 5th Nov 2016.
A Upon review of last four years of voluntary work to the society, Science India Forum-Bahrain has had a very
successful journey towards departing the awareness of science education. At this moment, I take this opportunity
to express my sincere gratitude to the Executive Committee, Principals, SIF Volunteers, Parents, Teachers,
School Coordinators, Supporters and Well-Wishers, those have extended their self less efforts, valuable time and
enthusiasm to SIF Bahrain for achieving success in our goal “promoting a new generation of creative scientists”.
