Dear Readers,

SCIeNCe INDIA FoRUM, BAHRAIN (SIF Bahrain) is publishing its fourth yearbook in a
row on the occasion of honouring the Sastra Pratibhas & Toppers of the Sastra Pratibha
Contest 2016. The contests were conducted in two phases and the eminent judging panel
has commented high about the quality of performances by the participants. Needless to
say, it gives us immense pleasure, satisfaction and confidence that, we are on the right
track.

The objective of SIF Bahrain is to share the wisdom of glorious scientific tradition that
ancient India had from time immemorial as well as to update and inspire the students
about the current growth and colossal opportunities in the field of Science & Technology
that will generate enormous confidence, interest and collective self-esteem among the
generation of budding scientists. We were inspired to see the inquisitive minds of young
talents who were flinging in with valuable queries during “Meet the Scientist” program
which was another live illustration of the significant contributions of SIF Bahrain.

SIF Bahrain also share the gratitude of being honoured and authorized by Department
of Science & Technology, Government of India to conduct the screening of projects for
National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) which will be held in India during last week
of December 2016. We are greatly indebted to Embassy of India, Bahrain for endorsing
us for this recognition. The NCSC will be another prodigious platform for students from
Bahrain to showcase their talents and build up their career in the domain of Science and
Technology.

SIF Bahrain is deeply thankful to the Royal family of the Kingdom of Bahrain for supporting
our voluntary efforts. We wish to express our deepest gratitude to the officials of the Embassy
of India, Bahrain, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Vijnana Bharati for their
assistance and guidance through this journey. We also take this opportunity to thank the
authors & reviewers for their contribution towards this yearbook. A special thanks goes to
our well-wishers & sponsors who have continued their support for this noble cause.
