India – The Emerging

Superpower

“Oh Lord, take us from Untruth to Truth,

From Darkness to Light

From Death to Immortality…
Oh Eternal, Peace be on all”…

This immortal prayer, wishing for a blissful world, emanated from the
elevated minds of India’s great masters, tens of thousands years ago,
when the rest of the world was yet to hear of what is known as
civilization or an organized society.

However, subsequent invasions by marauding armies and
centuries of foreign oppression that culminated in a bloodstained
partition of the land saw the country being trapped in all
sorts of tribulations, while others marched ahead. A hefty
stagnation has left the entire nation paralysed due to these
gory conquests that has created a dangerous situation
and halted any innovative advancement. A country that
was once the dream destination of every exploratory
sea-liner was forced to suffer hundreds of years under
foreign oppression which made her life miserable.
This has happened not because of political instability
or lack of military forces or lack of brave hearts
in India, but due to lack of advancement in the
arena of science and technological advancements.
We were technologically weak to counter the
emerged global powers.

European innovations and inventions had given
the continent unmatched advantages which
they used for world domination. However, these
circumstances have changed in global arena
dramatically after the Second World War. Every
nation across the globe realised the importance
and value of peace as well as need for economic
stability and growth to ensure the welfare of their
respective nations.

After the initial years which saw slow paced
initiatives that took time to start as solid ventures,
independent India, the land of a thousand languages,
billion dreams and zillion hopes is actually reaching
out for the stars! Why not? After all, we are the world’s
largest democracy, the emerging global economic
power and above all, the confluence of a modern nation
and an ancient civilization.
