In the area within 2000 metres of City Hall, there are hundreds of
millions of dollars of new developments under construction or in
process. This will bring new homes and new business opportunities
to our City and continue the evolution from a suburban town to a
small City that’s a key part of the region.

The Federal and provincial government have recognized the potential
of this community and, in the last 20 years, have invested over a
billion dollars in transportation infrastructure. The Golden Ears
Bridge and the Pitt River Bridge mean that we are now less than an
hour drive to the US Border or to Downtown Vancouver.

Both levels of government have invested in capacity increases of
the Lougheed Highway and the new RapidBus service launched at
the beginning of 2020 to connect our community to the regional
SkyTrain network. Housing affordability, as well as a diversity of
housing forms, has helped sustain the growth in our community,
and the new population has created economic opportunities for
entrepreneurs in the service industry.

Maple Ridge has invested millions of dollars in recreational amenities
and has an ongoing plan in place to ensure that our youth have the
