A TRIP TO
RAMESHWARAM
Rameshwaram is my dream place. The trip was part of my
Summer Vacation. Rameshwaram is a sacred town in
Ramanathapuram District in Tamil Nadu. We stayed in
Rameshwaram for 3 days. On 29th April 2018, we visited
Ramanathaswamy temple which is one of the 12 JyothirLinga
temples. It has the longest corridor among all the hindu temples
in India. We could find many shops inside the temple.
On the second day, we went to Rameshwaram beach, from a
distance the sea appeared like a large lake with beautiful blue
waters and sand below. We took a holy dip in Agni Teertha
and at around 1’o’ clock we visited the house of
Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam. I got inspired by being in the presence of
the medals and certificates achieved by him. For the next one
hour, I was thrilled to see his books and I strongly recommend
everybody pay a visit.
The third day was awesome. We went to visit Dhanushkodi and
Ramasethu Bridge. We saw the floating stone thrown by Lord
Rama years back. We played for half an hour in the Indian
Ocean. What an experience it was!! .
On a closing note, I must say that the Food in Rameshwaram
had something special in it which forced a diet freak to over
eat.On the same day we all took a train to Kochi cherishing the
memorable days in Rameshwaram.
