A major concern lies in the mind of investors regarding investing in Hubli. What makes Hubli as potential

(A SWOT study followed by Zinnov Survey recently gave insight into reasons to support the notion of
investing in Hubli. Excerpts from the study).

Ÿ Cost efficiency in setting up infrastructure is 10-20% lesser than tier- 1 cities. Joining the smart city board,
Hubli is accustomed with regular assistance from Govt for overall development.
Ÿ Sufficient infrastructure facilities and agencies like KIADB, DIC to implement pre-feasibility studies.
Ÿ Lack of competition because companies operating are minimal.
Ÿ The geographical features of location can help build a hub & spoke model.
Ÿ Growing educational institutes & research labs lead to producing promising graduates with keen
entrepreneurial abilities. To quote an example, we have BVB Eng College that has incorporated an
innovation hub aligning innovation as part of curriculum. Every year 50 odd ideas by students are funded by
Venture Capitalists. These ideas serve society on whole.
Ÿ Abundant manpower in tier 2 cities with lack of employment opportunities.
Ÿ The saturated metros always pave way for individuals to base their business model in tier 2 cities with sheer
confidence.

Things are looking bright and promising given the size of the market and existing opportunities. With
territories marked and basic infrastructure in place, Cut to today, the startup ecosystem in North Karnataka
looks as vibrant and promising as in any big city. What is most striking is how ideas have popped out of features
distinct to the region.
