■ Provide DVT and stress ulcer prophylaxis.
■ Prepare patient and family for possible decompression craniectomy.
■ The following can ↑ ICP and should be avoided: hypercapnia, hypoxemia,
Valsalva maneuver, isometric muscle contractions, REM sleep, and noxious
stimuli.
