          blood toward the periphery. Deflation of the balloon decreases the end-diastolic
          pressure, which reduces impedance to flow when aortic valve opens at onset of
          systole. This decreases ventricular afterload and promotes stroke volume, thus
          increasing coronary artery perfusion and blood flow during diastole.
