A Current Holistic Approach

he Makati Medical Center Department of Dermatology
held their 12th Postgraduate Course entitled “Multifaceted
TDermatology: A Current, Holistic Approach” on October 9,
2019 at the Makati Diamond Residences. This year’s course was
spearheaded by Dr. Giovanni E. Dimayuga, and supported by
Dr. Valerie F. Herbosa and Dr. Elsie P. Floreza, the department’s
Chair and Vice Chair, respectively. One hundred and sixty-
three delegates were treated to multi-faceted lectures, ranging
from aesthetic techniques, the boon and bane in nutrition and
hormones, and the banal and extraordinary in the practice of
dermatology.
Local and international speakers shared their expertise and the
latest updates to an attentive audience. Dr. Peachy Paz-Lao,
current president of the Philippine Dermatological Society,
echoed conferences she attended in Portugal, Italy, and
Singapore. A recent discovery identified CARD14 mutations
to be associated with a severe variant of atopic dermatitis and Full house at the Makati Diamond Residences Legaspi Ballroom
