                     A Current Holistic Approach

         Dr.  Joyce  Castillo  discussed  three  emerging  sexually
         transmitted  infections:  Mycoplasma  genitalum,  estimated
         to  be  responsible  for  more  STIs  than  Neisseria  gonorrhea;
         Shigellosis, usually implicated in diarrhea but recognized as
         a  potential  STI  in  the  1970s;  and  Neiserria  meningitides,  a
         result of oral-genital sexual contact.

         several biologics - Ustekinumab having the highest drug survival
         overall  while  Secukinumab  showing  rapid  onset  of  efficacy.
         Off-label  uses  include  alopecia  areata,  acneiform  eruptions,

         Ungpakorn  highlighted  the  use  of  new  oral  azoles  (in  nail
         infections); allylamine and anti-mycotics have greatly improved
         treatment  duration  and  cure  rates,  especially  in  children  in
         whom compliance and prolonged exposure may be a concern.
