off-set lines, mind you), and became permanent as we left a stride
out over the massive Weldon’s Wall (surely they borrowed this fence
from rolex). I shouted for joy splashing through the water heading
for home.
fist pumps from mom and Dad at the finish line, and hugs all around
were our reward for an incredible ride. harriet never doubted her job
for a moment, and displayed proud look with which she crosses each
finish line. I beamed with pride, and graciously thanked the strangers
who remarked, “great round, what a horse!” my response is always
the same; just two words: “she’s Irish.”

“rosie”, as she is known by her rider, trainer, owner and fans, is en-
joying the New year enhancing her hunter skills with weekly lessons
under the watchful eye of mary D’arcy (on the ground) and shelley
Q. Peters (in the irons). ms. D’arcy describes rosie as a “smart and
willing mare”, while olympian greg Best commented on rosie being
a “powerful, willful jumper”. rosie welcomes the challenges that are
added to her training regimen but mostly she looks forward to hack-
ing out with her sister, roxie, enjoying an occasional “spa day” and
eating lots of red Delicious apples as rewards for a Job Well Done!
to describe this purebred Irish Draught mare as straightforward and
lovely, kind, sweet and athletic, is a testament to her breeder rachael
cox and to the Irish Draught Breed. top gun stables is proud to
receive the hunters level 1 champion honors for rosie’s 2016
competition season.
